Rudra Prasad Roy
Rudra Prasad Roy is an accomplished Indian contemporary dancer and choreographer trained for 26 years under Mamata Shankar in the Uday Shankar tradition. With expertise in contemporary, Jazz, Afro-contemporary, Chhau, Kalaripayattu and other Indian classical movement forms, he has developed a distinctive artistic style rooted in Indian aesthetics. He has performed extensively in India and abroad, collaborated on numerous acclaimed theatrical productions, and worked as a creative director and educator. He is currently engaged in the study and exploration of the Natya Shastra, integrating its principles into contemporary performance and pedagogy. As the founder of Kundarali Payel Chakravarty Dance Academy, he is dedicated to nurturing young dancers and promoting innovative contemporary dance practices inspired by Indian culture and philosophy.
